A work visa is required for employment in China. In addition, visas may be issued for accompanying family members. Work visas are only issued as single-entry visas. A work visa holder is required by law to register with the local authority in China within 30 days of arrival. At that time, the work visa will be changed to 'residence permit', which allows for multiple exits and entries.

Here's what you'll need to provide us:

  • Actual passport*, signed, and valid at for least 6 month beyond stay and with a blank visa page.
  • One visa application form per person, completely filled-out and signed. (Use black or blue ink only.)
  • One recent passport-size photograph (color or black and white).
  • An official visa notice from a relevant department of the Chinese Government or Government authorized company.

One of the following documents:

  • A Certificate of Foreign Expert issued by the China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (for teachers).
  • An Employment Permit or Employment License from an authorized Chinese organization.
  • Visa processing fees, return postage, and your mailing address.
